I know its not math, but is the higher the pH of something the more acidic it is, or less acidic. For example, if there was a pH of 7, is that more or less acidic than a pH of 8?

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

higher the ph less acidic

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

ph 1 is the most acidic ph 14 is the least

OpenStudy (akshay_budhkar):

for ph<7 it is acidic .. ph>7 it is basic (for water)

OpenStudy (unklerhaukus):

ph of 7 is neutral, ie as acidic as bacis, \[10^{-7}\] ions of \[H^+,OH^{-}\]

Thanks
