To calculate the mechanical advantage of a lever what two pieces of information do you need? A. effort force and fulcrum weight B. resistance force and length of effort arm C. effort force and the length of effort arm D. the length of the effort arm and the length of the resistance arm

D.

This comes from balance of torques. \[F_a L_1 = F_l L_2\]where \(F_a\) is the force we apply, \(F_l\) is the force lifted. As L1 increases, the applied force necessary to do the same amount of lift force decreases. This is the mechanical advantage.
