What are up-link, down-link and cross-link?

OpenStudy (anonymous):
Up-link is usually a connection from a small network to a larger network. Down-link could be the reverse. And cross-link usually is a direct connect of computers without a standard network. Very simplified.....unless you mean something else, then a topic clarification would help.
