The median of a set of 9 consecutive integers is 42. What is the greatest of these 9 integers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i know

OpenStudy (anonymous):

38 39 40 41 42 43 44 45 46

OpenStudy (anonymous):

That is the median number, or 5th number in a series of 9

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You can just add 4 to 42

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The median means that it is the one in the middle. So if 42 is in the middle of 9 consecutive integers, there must be 4 numbers below it and 4 numbers above it. 42-4=38 and 42+4=46 So just like lauriy said.
