If a z-score is 1.33 and tells you that 1.33 is the standard deviation from the mean, is the z value positive or negative?

OpenStudy (istim):

Do you have a Z-Score chart with you?

OpenStudy (istim):

Wait, do you need a z-score chart?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

No. i don't but the z score is 1.33 so I am guessing that the z score is negative but i am not sure

OpenStudy (istim):

I always thought you could tell the if the z-score was positive or negative based on whether or not it had a negative sign in front of it...

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I think that Since Z = (score-mean)/standard deviation, scores below the mean will have a negative value, and those above the mean will have a positive value.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

weren't you told that the z-score is 1.33 > 0 (??)

OpenStudy (istim):

You know about the graph/diagram right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I was told that the z score was 1.33 which is 1.33 sd from the mean

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Tim, I do not know about the graph/diagram

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Broken Fixer do you think that I am correct that the z score is negative?

OpenStudy (istim):
