how do we show the magnetic field lines, in a AC current solenoid?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

if the direction of the current keeps changing ( ac), then the direction of the magnetic field keeps changing with the same frequency! .. thats all i know :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but then how do we draw it?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

you can't draw it.. these fields are a function of time.. are you asking me a graph of field vs time?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

nope the paterns? of field lines

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea well .. at every instant they would keep changing.. !! you ll have to introduce time axis somehow? :-/.. ishaan is much better .. he ll come up with something now :D

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh.thnks and lets see what he brings out :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

hmm can't we use right hand thumb rule |dw:1327825525015:dw||dw:1327825574961:dw|I think the direction changes right? i mean in AC current the direction of current changes with every cycle.
