The number of tickets sold each day for an upcoming performance of Handels Messiah is given by N(x)=-0.3x^2+9x+13, where x is the number of days since the concert was first announces. When will daily ticket sales peak and how many will be sold that day? ( I am very lost here)
do you know how to find the max/min of a function?
have you done calculus?
i have never done calculus
I am pretty much a math idiot
so maybe your teacher wants you to graph this function and then see what the maximum value is?
you can complete the square to find the vertex of the equation
they want to know what day the ticket sales will peak after the concert was first announced and the number of tickets sold on that day
yes - we know that - moneybird and myself are trying to establish which method would be best for you depending on what you have been taught
so, as moneybird stated, have you studied how to express a quadratic equation in vertex form?
We can't help you if you don't respond.
sorry yes
i was trying to make sense of this problem thats I wasnt responding.....ready to rip my hair out...:(
so try and re-arrange the equation in vertex form
which is:\[N(x)=a(x-h)^2+k\]
ok
