Diabetes mellitus : it means the pancreas produce little or no insulin so then the body will have high glucose level isnt it? My teacher's notes said it increases ADH, increases blood volume, increases blood pressure and decreases osmotic pressure but decreases osmotic pressure means lower sugar levels .. I'm juz all confused :( Also when you have high blood volume, wouldnt that mean low blood pressure?
diabetes mellitus means decrease in insulin secretion
which causes increase in glucose level in the blood and also cause increase in the amount of urine and excessive feeling of thirst ....so it decreases the osmotic pressure of blood to absorb water and increases the osmotic pressure of urine so the volume of urine increases
so u mean the osmotic pressure in blood decreases and osmotic pressure in urine increases?? so it is not true that high levels of sugar = high osmotic pressure?
after some thought i think it is true ...cuz think about it....how would the osmotic pressure of urine increase if the osmotic pressure of blood is low....urine formation depends on blood filtration...so i guess that blood has high osmotic pressure to absorb the large amounts of sugar so that during the blood filtration process the urine absorbs the excess glucose leading to an increase in absorption of water from the nephron tubules leading to large amounts of urine and excessive feeling of thirst
yea, so u also say that there is a high osmotic pressure in body? then i still dont understand why my teacher put it as low osmotic pressure cuz i think if osmotic pressure is high in blood, it should be high in urine too
i agree.....i get confused sometimes too....i guess u should ask ur teacher for more info :)
haha,, alright!! thanks for you help!
i don't think i was that much of a helper...but ur welcome :D:D
luk here why u said that when osmotic preure decreases sugar level downs
and high blood volume meanss high blood pressure na? not low blood pressure
