Does this sound like a good answer to the question, how could I improve it? Think about the importance of preserving a society's literature and language. Suppose that the monasteries had not preserved the classics of Greeks and Latin literature. It would be very unfortunate if the Grecian and Roman literature was lost. Their works of mythology still shape our world today. Many of the ideas expressed manifest in our culture today. A lot of mythology has been used to create new terms in our vocabulary. It isn’t likely, but not impossible that our literature and language could (continued)
disappear from the earth. Much of our culture has been digitalized and stored in multiple servers. Even if those were to fail us, there are many physical books that are in safe storage facilities. Our language is more likely to be replaced, but not erased. Right now, English is a popular language. Certain languages have flourished and then deteriorated in use. English has remained popular for hundreds of years: I don’t think it’s going anywhere, at least for now.
in your own opinion/fact... :)
"Many of the ideas expressed manifest in our culture today" Whose culture? I'm assuming it's American culture possibly? The word manifest sounds awkard as well. If you replace that word with it's definition (evident) "Many of the ideas expressed evident in our culture today" which doesn't make sense. Just some thoughts.
Thanks Bob! I'll implement your suggestions!
