The point P(5,36) lies on the curve x^2+x+6. If Q is the point (x, x^2+x+6), find the slope of the secant line PQ for the following values of x. If , the slope of is x=5.1 _____________ So, first I find the derivative which is f'(x)=2x+1 which I put in 5.1 and get out 11.2 which is somehow wrong?! Help!
