what is diffrent the betweet the monocot and dicot
the vascular bundles, the venation of the leaves, petal arrangement are a few differences
as monocots have one cotyledon, dicotyls have two cotyledons. generally, monocots have parallel leaf venation. leaf venation in dicots is usually reticulated. there is no sepal-petal differentiation in monocots, instead, the perianth parts are called "tepals". number of tepals are in threes or multiples of three. in dicots, the flower parts (sepal-petal) are 4-5 or in multiples of 4-5. monocots' vascular bundles are scattered, dicots' vascular bundles are in regular circles. secondary growth is generally present in dicots. most of monocots are herbaceous, dicots are both herbaceous and woody. monocots have adventitious roots, dicots' roots develop from radicle and there are various root types. you can notice a dicotyledon with one of the monocotyledon characteristics or vice-versa. these are generally accepted differences.
