how do you calculate the slope of a secant line

hero (hero):

Using the slope formula

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thats is all it is, so if i wanted to calculate the average rate of change between (6, 20.45455) and (2,1.92308) all i do is 20.45455-1.92308)/(6-2)

hero (hero):

yup

hero (hero):

Think about it....The secant line is, well, just a line :P

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh that is a lot simpler than i was thinking what is this formula for (F(x1,+h)-f(x1))/h

hero (hero):

You can still use that formula to calculate it. It's the same thing
