While the DNA in a human skin cell was being replicated, one of the bases in one of the strands was skipped over and no nucleotide was matched with it. The nucleotides on either side of it then joined together. What will be the most likely result of this for the cell in which it happened?

I would say that the cell would not form right therefor it would not be able to survive/reproduce.

I'm doing it now...and the lesson says that the DNA polymerase proofreads each strand to make sure it's perfect...so I think the answer is D. The miscopied DNA will be replaced with an accurate DNA copy once the cell divides...but I'm not sure, It just makes the most sense to me.
