Write the equation of each line with y-intercept = -6 and perpendicular to y =x = 1

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Is it y=2x=1 ?

OpenStudy (rogue):

Perpendicular to y = x - 1 right?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i DON'T KNOW

OpenStudy (rogue):

Well, a line that is perpendicular to another line has the negative reciprocal slope of the other line. So if line 1 has a slope of -2, and line 2 is perpendicular to line 1, then line 2 has a slope of 1/2. Do you get that part?

IM CONFUSED I NEED MY BOOK ..I NEED THE ANSWER

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I KIND OF GET IT I JUST NEED MY BOOKS TO FOLLOW ME THROUGH EVERYTHING

OpenStudy (rogue):

Alright, so if a line were to have a slope of 4, what would the slope of the perpendicular line be?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

SORRY THANK YOU NEVER MIND I WILL JUST WAIT I GUESS TO GET TO SCHOOL

OpenStudy (rogue):

Oh, alright then...
