OpenStudy (anonymous):

A projectile is fired at an upward angle of 45.0 degrees from the top of a 165-m cliff with a speed of 175 m/s. a) What is the total energy? b) What will its speed be when it strikes the ground below? Use conservation of energy; neglect air resistance.

OpenStudy (patti):

total energy = mgh + 1/2 mv^2, so couldn't you find the height * mgh?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

You don't know the mass though?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

We need to mass. No way around it.
