Suppose f(x) equals the greatest integer less than or equal to x. so, for example, f(1.99)=1, f(2)=2, and f(4.87)=4. Find the limit as x tends to 6 from the left. lim f(x) x->6-

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ANSWER IS NOT 6 OR -6

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I don't really understand this prob. It's prob the way they put it.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

well, lim f(x) x->6- is kind of like evaluating f(5.999999....) so the answer is 5

OpenStudy (anonymous):

why is it 5 though
