how would i factor this expression? 18q-54

OpenStudy (precal):

18(q-3)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how would i get to that

OpenStudy (anonymous):

same as the other problem, divide each term by 18, 18q divided by 18 equals just Q, -54 divided by 18 equals -3, so you write the 18 in front, than write (q-3) in parantheses, 18(q-3)

OpenStudy (precal):

18q-54 rewrite using factors 18*1q-18*3 what do they have in common? 18 take that out 18 you have q-3 left 18(q-3)
