red , green, and blue light rays each enter a drop of water from the same direction. which light rays path through the drop will bend the most, and which will bend at least? why?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Check this out ---> http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Light_dispersion_conceptual_waves.gif Notice how longer wavelengths refract less.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so the blue one will bend the least?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Blue has a longer wavelength than red and green.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

oh ok thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

how about this one

OpenStudy (anonymous):

_______ occurs when light changes direction after colliding with particles of matter

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Reflection. But it could be refraction. Depending on if the matter is reflective or translucent.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

its not reflection either

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Or even absorption if the matter is neither translucent of reflective.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

thanks
