Create your own third degree polynomial that when divided by x + 2 has a remainder of –4.

create a polynomial, roots say (x+3) and (x-2) which leads to \[x ^{2}+x-6 \] now add -4 to this, and divide out one of the roots. If you have any questions send a message.
