in composition of linear transformation we say it F: V->U and G:U->W then (GoF)(v) is composition from V->W can anyone explain why we take the domain of 2nd mapping same as that of range of 1st mapping i.e U is same in this case why??

yes but if i want to do it mathematically then? e.g G(F(v)) then what's the link with U?
