Suppose the mean in a data set is multiplied by -8. Describe the effect if this transformation.

lets say you have a data set of 1,2,3,4,5..... add them all to get 15.... 15/5 = 3 3 * -8 = -24 in other words it would decrease most likly do to the fact that it is a negative factor.
