A theater has a total of 540 seats, some of the seats sell for $40 and some for $75. On a sold out night, the theatre made 27,200. how many of each type of seat were sold?

you there?

Yes

ok lets knock this out. put x = number of $75 tickets sold, then since the total is 540 then the number of $40 tickets has to be \[540-x\] since the total is 540 then the amount of income is \[75x+40(540-x)\] and you know this is $27,200 so set \[75x+40(540-x)=27200\] and solve for x

i get \[x=160\] so 160 $75 tickets and the rest are $40 tickets

Awesome. Thank you!
