jaime has 14 1/4 feet of lumber. she uses 2 7/8 feet for a shelf. does jaime have enough lumber for 4 more shelves?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes all she need was 14 3/8 for five shelves, which is obviously a little more than 14 1/4

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so its 14 3/8

OpenStudy (anonymous):

the question is if she has enough lumber to make five shelves each 2 7/8 ft long, if you multiply the length of each shelf 2 7/8 by 5 you will get the length of lumber required, which is 14 3/8.
