Sugar maple trees are very sensitive to warm temperatures and do not grow and reproduce well south of Pennsylvania. Oaks and hickories, on the other hand, can tolerate a much wider range of temperatures and grow all the way from Canada south into Georgia and Florida. If a hillside in a state north of Pennsylvania has mostly oaks and hickories growing on it with very few sugar maples, what can you correctly conclude about the climate?

OpenStudy (blues):

That it's too cold for sugar maples to grow there.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

few sugar maples forms means there are long day plants means they grow when the the light is bove from its critical period whereas oak tree is seems day neutral plants means which nt get affected whether the temp. is below or above from tis critical period
