#help. What is the relationship between the number of teeth and the number of spins a gear will make?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

In case of a gear of two parts the relationship should be:\[\frac{N_{teeth, 1}}{N_{teeth,2}}=\frac{N_{revolve,2}}{N_{revolve,1}}\] where \[N_{teeth}\] is the number of teeth for part 1/2 and \[N_{revolve}\] is the number of revolutions. So, e.g. if the one wheel has double the number of teeth, the other wheel will spin double as fast.
