If the function crosses the x axis twice - it has 2 real roots If the function crosses the x axis once - it has 1 real root with multiplicity of 2 also known as a double root If the function does not cross the x axis then the solution is no solution because in reality the solution is imaginary Solve it by using the quadratic formula
