Finding slopes and if they are parallel or not?

OpenStudy (precal):

same slope means the lines are parallel

OpenStudy (precal):

It is hard to see the coordinates of AB I will do the slope for you for CD coordinates for CD are (1,0) and (5,1) using slope formula m = (0-1)/(1-5)=-1/-4=1/4 your slope for CD is m=(1/4) do the slope for AB if it is m=1/4 then they are parallel becareful the y axis is marked by intervals of one but the x axis is marked by intervals of two lousy copy you are using (No wonder you are confused) Had your teacher used a better copy or marked both intervals by one, this would not be confusing for you
