An odd function means f(x) = -f(-x) like x (the identity function)
The function f(x)=0 is both even and odd.

an even function is symmetric around the y axis,
like the cos(x) function


an odd function is antisymmetric around the y axis
meaning they cross at the origin and are opposite in sign on each side of the y-axis

the sin(x) function is odd
