Does sugar or salt dissolve faster in water?

OpenStudy (aroub):

Sugar!

OpenStudy (aroub):

Try it :)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but if i think is in a biological way sugar is madeup of covalent bond salt is ionic bond so wouldnt salt dissolve faster?

OpenStudy (aroub):

Yes well because salt is ionic it dissolves less quickly because its molecules are harder to break down.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

When i search it online, it shows that ionic dissolves faster though

OpenStudy (aroub):

Did you try it ?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea..but really couldnt tell the ddifference..

OpenStudy (anonymous):

salt as it is ionic

OpenStudy (anonymous):

salt

OpenStudy (anonymous):

aroub u r rit that ionic bond is stronger than covalent but when u dissolve it in polar solvent it breaks easily as u knw this concept of solution always works in water if salt is dry then it cannot dissolve ok so the ans goes to salt
