Find the zeros of the function. State the multiplicity of multiple zeros. y = (x-5)^3

OpenStudy (nenadmatematika):

x=5...it's a triple zero of that function

OpenStudy (mertsj):

x=5

OpenStudy (mertsj):

Multiplicity 3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So in x(x-8)^2 would the multiplicity be 2 or...?

OpenStudy (nenadmatematika):

x=0 multiplicity 1, and x=8 multiplicity 2

OpenStudy (mertsj):

The multiplicity of 8 would be 2 and the multiplicity of 0 would be 1

Thanks for your help! :)

OpenStudy (nenadmatematika):

you're welcome :D
