\[\cos^2x+\sin^2x=1\] divide \[\cos^2x\] to all three terms you get \[1+\tan^2x=\sec^2x\] divide \[\sin^2x\] to all three terms you get \[\cot^2x+1=\csc^2x\] That is how I remember them...
