can someone help me go through step by step with this one so i can do the rest of the problems by myself......... 2.Write the equation of the line which passes through (2, 1) and is perpendicular to x = –2. (1 point)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

first you need to know that \[x=-2\] is vertical, and therefore a perpendicular line will be horizontal

OpenStudy (anonymous):

then you need the fact that a horizontal line has the equation \[y=\text{number}\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

so if it passes through (2,1) since the y value is 1, it must be the line \[y=1\]
