http://tinypic.com/r/6em8bd/5 Find the slope of the line tangent to the graph of contraction velocity at a load of 2 kg. Give units. please explain tangent lines and how to find them

OpenStudy (anonymous):

A tangent line is a line that touches the curve at only one point (for the most part), yet does not cross the curve.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

The tangent line would look like this. Notice that it intercepts the curve at x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

So in other words, the tangent line has the same slope as the curve at x=2

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Does that help?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yea helps alot thanks

OpenStudy (anonymous):

but what do you think the slope would be

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Just by looking at the graph, I'd guess about -1/2.
