What is the range and interquartile range for the box plot below? Are there any outliers?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the box itself IS the IQR and everything outside of it is an outlier

OpenStudy (amistre64):

those arms on each side encompass the outliers

OpenStudy (anonymous):

This is what confuses me, these are the answers I can choose from? A. 40, 15, yes B. 40, 15, no C. 45, 10, yes D. 45, 10, no

OpenStudy (amistre64):

so, from 50 to 65 is the IQR, or rather end - start is the size of the range

OpenStudy (amistre64):

65 - 50 = 15 so if im not mistaken id go with A

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Thats what I chose!

OpenStudy (amistre64):

15 is the IQR so 40 is the difference between the "arms" for range

OpenStudy (amistre64):

80-40 = 40 ... so yeah, A is my pick too :)

myininaya (myininaya):

I thought anything that has a distance of 3/2 * IQR away from the box is consider to be an outlier

OpenStudy (amistre64):

the box is the "normal stuff" and anyting outsid eof it is outlying

OpenStudy (amistre64):

.... gonna make me doubt myself aintcha ....yous evil to the core lol

myininaya (myininaya):

lol you know me
