Same topic....It asks to solve the equation x+1=x+2 and what is unique about the solution. I don't understand esp since there is no "y". The next question is the same thing...solve 2x+2=2x+2. ????

the first equation is unsolvable because if you subtract x from both sides you'll find that 1=2 [which is impossible] the solution of the second is the set of R "rational numbers" because if you substituted by any number it will satisfy the relation.
