Find the equation of the tangent line to the curve r= 3 sin2 theta at theta= pi/3

OpenStudy (anonymous):

I have attached the slope of the curve

OpenStudy (anonymous):

What difficulty are you having?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ummm i know the slope but like how wld u find the equation?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like what points would you plug into the equation to find out what the y intercept equals?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

like i am not sure how it works with polar equations

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Like have you ever worked with polar equations?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

are you still there?

OpenStudy (phi):

use your equation to find r at theta = pi/3 the (x1,y1) of the tangent point is x1= r cos(pi/3), y1= r sin(pi/3) evaluate m= dy/dx at theta = pi/3. use y - y1 = m(x - x1)

ohhhh i get it :D I am so stupid lol
