a box of mass 16kg is pulled from rest a distance of 5m across a smooth horizontal floor by a cable inclined at 60degree to the horizontal.find the work done by the tension in the cable given that its magnitude is 25N.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Only the portion of the force that is parallel to the floor does work. To find this, we use trig. \[F_x = T \cos(\theta)\] Work is expressed as force times distance. \[W = F_x \Delta x\]

OpenStudy (anonymous):

is it we've to ignore the mass given?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

yes as they gave the force already

OpenStudy (anonymous):

ok thanx ^_^
