Problem set 11. problem 4G-5 Hello. How to calculate the area in problem 4G-5 integrating with respect to x. And if it is not possible, my question is: why? Because, there were similar situation in recitation in Session 79 about torus. The graph was rotated around y ax, integration was made with respect to x

Are you needing help with 11 4G-5? It does not restrict you to solving with respect to x. Is there a reason you want to?

Be careful when looking at their solution to this problem...there are many errors...negative signs...to limits of integration....which leads to an incorrect surface area ....they did however approach the problem correctly integrating with respect to y.

OpenStudy (anonymous):

limits of integration should have been 0 to 16 not 0 to 2. with an answer of (pi/6)(65(65)^.5-1)....approx....273.867

let me know if you need help working the problem...
