the best way is probably the quadratic formula. put everything on one side first. 0.3x^2 -1.8x -0.3 = 0 x = [1.8 +/- square root of ((-1.8)^2 - 4(0.3)(-0.3)]/2(0.3) plug it in the calculator..I don't have any :)
