f f(x)=3x-8 the f^-1 (y) =??

OpenStudy (anonymous):

suppose you had \[3x-8= 50\] and you had to solve for x. what would you do? 1) add 8 2) divide by 3 that is what the inverse does. it is \[f^{-1}(y)=\frac{y+8}{3}\]
