diffrentiate between scalar and vector?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

quite simple!! we get to know about diretion of motion by vetor quantity bt scaler merely gives the magnitude!!

OpenStudy (lalaly):

vector: Magnitude and direction Scalar: only magnitude

OpenStudy (anonymous):

a vector depends on the direction and the magnitude whereas scalar does not depend on direction e.g. distance is scalar while displacement is vector

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Scalar : just a Simple Number with (+/-) Signs Vector : a Scalar with a Degree which it means : Magnitude & Direction

OpenStudy (anonymous):

scalar quantity has only magnitude. but vector quantity has both direction and magnitude
