What is an ethnography? I have to write a paper on who my fixed and variable positions and explain how they could affect my ethnographic study. I picked religion, weight, ethnicity and income, but I am lost??????

You might have a difficult time getting an answer to this question here. I have not run into too many anthropology majors here. I can tell you that ethnography is a framework within the field of anthropology, and that you can look up a more detailed explanation on wikipedia or some other site, but not much more than that.

You mention fixed and variable positions and their affect on an ethnographic study. To me this should like something straight out of a textbook, so I suggest consulting the textbook you are using for this class for clarification on that matter.

There are a lot of people who frequent this site, and perhaps there is someone here who can provide a better answer, but I thought I'd post to let you know not to waste too much time waiting for an answer here. Don't delete your question because someone may be able to answer it, but in the meantime you might want to focus on some preliminary research. And their's always your instructor if this is a matter of not understanding your assignment.
