Can someone show me how to factor this equation with all the steps? ab - 2b + ac - 2c

OpenStudy (phi):

you could factor out b from (ab-2b) and c from (ac-2c)

OpenStudy (anonymous):

b(a-2) + c(a-2)

OpenStudy (phi):

@adr now keep going. factor (a-2) from each term

OpenStudy (anonymous):

i don't know how to simplify more than this...

OpenStudy (phi):

think of (a-2) as simply x , so can you factor bx+cx ? yes, you get (b+c)x replace the x with (a-2) (b+c)(a-2)

thanks
