we have 
1st...a+b=8
2nd...b+c=9
3rd....a+c=10

subtract 2nd from third, we get
a-b=1
a+b=8
add these
we get 
2a=9
a=4.5
a-b=1
so b=3.5
a+c=10
c=10-a
c=10-4.5
c=5.5
a=4.5
b=3.5
c=5.5
