Biology kicks my butt! I'll never be a scientist. Can someone explain to me why was is more bubbling when a potato was mashed as compared to a whole cube of potato (regarding catalase)

Because the mashed potato particles are much smaller and more numerous than the chopped potato particles - they have a much higher surface area to volume ratio.
