A local retailer is selling all $120 wall mirrors at 33% off. Mitchell is buying a wall mirror and has a coupon for an additional 15% off the sale price. What will Mitchell pay for his mirror? Please show all work.

33%+15% = 48% $120 x .48 = $57.60 $120 - $57.60 = $62.40 Answer: $62.40

OpenStudy (mertsj):

2/3(120)=80 That is the sale price with the first discount. It is marked down an additional 15% of 80. So the customer has to pay 85% of 80 .85(80)=$65 That is the sale price.
