What happens to the carrying capacity for insectivorous birds in winter in a northern New York forest? A. It drops quickly to zero once the temperature goes below freezing. B. It fluctuates slightly above and below the optimum level as birds are born and die. C. It increases rapidly as birds migrate south for the winter. D. It stays constant since carrying capacity is a fixed value that does not change. I think its either C or D??

OpenStudy (blues):

There are no more insects (freezing kills insects) so there is nothing for the birds to eat. I think the answer is A.

Thank you! A was correct.
