Not sure who first made the version that we call ice cream today, but it's origins go back to before Christ. Perhaps as early as 400 BC in Persia.

Yes, but you were unclear on exactly what you were looking for. If you go all the way back you could say that the Persians invented it, but the Chinese version was closer to today's ice cream since it included milk.
