SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME! Jorge stands 63 feet from the base of a flagpole. The top of the flagpole's shadow falls on Jorge's shoe. The flagpole is 60 feet high.Exactly how far from the flagpole's topis Jorge standing?

OpenStudy (anonymous):

Pythagorean theorem. The flagpole, assuming it is perpendicular to the ground, should form a right triangle such that Jorge's distance to the top can be represented by \[d=\sqrt{h^{2}+L^{2}}\] Where d is the said distance, h is the pole's height, and L is how far Jorge is from the base of the pole.
