The American Revolution affected the world in several ways. First, it surprised the world that such a small amount of people would revolt against the grandest army in the world. Then, it was a financial 'burden' of sorts to other countries who sided with the colonies (like the French). It was also a major influence to other places where revolts occured. For example, the French Revolution, the Haitian Slave Rebellion, etc...
